Brief
A housing co-operative asked for twenty-two flats on a former car park, at a cost the members could carry without a developer.
Approach
We kept the plan simple: two cores, every flat dual-aspect, no internal corridors. The balconies are cut into the brick rather than hung off it, so they are sheltered and private and the facade stays whole.
Materials
Wire-cut red brick in a Flemish bond, a dark brick for the balcony recesses, steel railings and timber windows. The roof carries solar panels and a shared drying terrace.
